Aftercare
The way you look after your tattoo before, during and after its completion will affect how it looks for the rest of your life.
BEFORE
-
Please moisturise the area to be tattooed in the days before with a natural moisturiser.
-
Please remove any fake tan before your appointment. The use of sunbeds during the course of getting a tattoo will inhibit the healing of your skin.
-
Please avoid the use of any Alcohol/Drugs before your appointment. Both can affect how well you can sit and how your body reacts to the process.
-
Please ensure you have eaten at least an hour before coming to your appointment.

The First Day
DURING
On the day of your appointment:
-
Please arrive 5 minutes only before your appointment time. The studio doesn't have a waiting area, too early and you will have to wait outside (or in the lovely cafe next door!).
-
Please bring a book, kindle, iPod with earbuds to help pass the time.
-
Please bring a drink of water with you. If the session is a long one please bring any snacks you may need to help you sit for the full time.
-
I will not tattoo anyone who appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
AFTER
I will wrap your tattoo in either cling film or tissue on completion of the session. Please only leave this in place until you are home or can do the following:
-
Wash your hands
-
Carefully remove the cling film or tissue
-
Wash gently in warm water with a mild antibacterial soap.
-
Rinse the soap away and pat dry.
-
Apply a thin layer of aftercare cream and leave it open to the air where possible. (Please do not use Savlon, Vaseline or Germolene as these will either draw out the ink or prevent the skin from breathing).
-
Continue this for 2-3 days until healed.
-
Your tattoo will dry out and go flaky, please resist scratching at this stage as you may lift out new ink.
-
If you follow all the advice your tattoo will be fully healed within 2-3 weeks.
-
If you have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
-
It is advised that you refrain from swimming while your tattoo is healing, chlorine can have an adverse effect to the healing process. Also avoid hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms and baths (showering is fine).
-
It is advised that you keep your new tattoo out of direct sunlight until it is fully healed. To keep your tattoo in good condition for years to come, the use of sunblock is advised.
